PRESENTATION

Day 01: Marrakech

Arrival at Marrakech airport. Transfer to your hotel or Riad.
Visit of the ochre city (depending on the arrival time), the second imperial city in Morocco.The city fascinates by its historical wealth and its gardens of international reputation, many monuments can be visited to understand the history of this charming city, as for example: The Jardins de Majorelle and its Berber museum which belong to Yves Saint Laurent, the Menara Gardens, the famous Koutoubia mosque, the tower of the ramparts, the Medina, Bahia Palace, the Jemaa el fna famous place, Anima Garden which belongs to the Austrian artist André Heller.

Day 02: Marrakech / Ouarzazate (193km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the small Moroccan town of Ouarzazate, founded in the 20th century. Ouarzazate is a caramel-coloured oasis enhanced by the cloudless blue of the North African sky. It does not really present any historicalinterest;but it has attracted the film industry for some years now. Alain Chabat shot his Asterix in Ouarzazate, in the Atlas studios. An international film school has opened in the Kan Zaman studios. The city nevertheless has some centres of interest. The Taourirt kasbah is a model of its kind, restored by UNESCO and the CERKAS of which it is the headquarter. The ksar, which stretches around the kasbah as far as the Oued Ouarzazate, presents a tangle of alleys and stalls. Ouarzazate is at the crossroads of the Southern Morocco routes.

Day 03: Ouarzazate / Tinghir (175km)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Tinghir: built along the Todra wadi, this large town of more than 11,000 inhabitants is planted in the middle of a superb palm grove of surprising density. At an altitude of just over 1,000 m, it benefits from an exceptional location. Its palm grove is one of the most beautiful in Morocco, the vegetation is really luxuriant, and the crops are abundant. The possibilities of walks are numerous. You can chill-out during crossing the 25 km of palm grove that leads to the Todra gorges. In this beautiful site you are expected for lunch. On the edge of the palm grove, you must visit the kasbah of the Senegalese and the kasbah of the Jews, which offer superb views. Perched on the heights is the ancient kasbah of the Glaoui. The best time for a walk is in the late afternoon. The light is then extraordinary. Reddened by the sun in the foreground and grey on the horizon, the mountains make a striking contrast with the green of the vegetation. In the town centre, some false guides are numerous to propose the visit of the gorges, it is enough to simply decline. Go to the souk wich is located behind Hassan-II street and Zaïd-Ouhmed square.

Day 04: Tinghir / Erfoud (142km)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Erfoud via: Tinejdadou Afrekla. Located in the region of Draa-Tafilalet about 20 km from Goulmima and 52 km from Tinghir. Continuation towards Erfoud. In the surroundings of Erfoud, it is possible to visit impressive fossil workshops where you will discover unique specimens. You will find ammonites, nautilus, crinoids, trilobites, etc., as well as fossils of fish, crocodiles and even dinosaurs. Erfoud is also known as the gateway to the Sahara because so very close to the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Day 05: Erfoud / Agdz- Ouarzazate (313km)

Early in the morning, departure for a 4x4 excursion to watch and admire the sunrise over the Merzouga Dunes. Return to the hotel for breakfast, departure to the city of Ouarzazate via the city of Agdz, a city that requires taking your time. Moreover, Agdz in Berber means "place to rest". So we take the time to sit down, have a cup of tea, watch and listen to incredible stories. Only few tourists stop on the road between Zagora and Ouarzazate, and many cross Agdz thinking that it is only the central place of the “Marche Verte”. The mosque dates from the time of Mohammed V. The kasbah of Caïd Ali also deserves that you spend a few minutes there listening to the history of the place. Agdz marks the beginning of the Draa valley and its palm groves of a thousand kasbahs. From a geographical and tourist point of view, its main attraction lies in the surprising djebel Kissane which overhangs the city at an altitude of 1 569 m. Continuation towards Ouarzazate.Hotel check-in & dinner and overnight.

Day 06: Ouarzazate / Marrakech (193km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Continuation towards the ochre city, Marrakech. Crossing Tizi N'Tichka, a pass at 2 260 meters of altitude located on the road between Marrakech and Ouarzazate. The full name of the locality literally means "pass of the pastures".Hotel accommodation.

Day 07: Marrakech

As a highlight to the roundtrip, a dinner show worthy of a folklore festival with the Fantasia at the restaurant Chez Ali. In the heart of the palm grove of Marrakech, you will enjoy a dinner composed of a multitude of tasty authentic dishes such as the traditional harirra soup with dates and lemon, steamed lamb Mechoui, chicken-couscous with its seven fresh vegetables, a cream pastilla will be served and tea with Moroccan pastry. Dinner of course under incredible Berber tents. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 08: Marrakech Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the airport of Marrakech.
